"Now Faith Is Turning Your Dreams Into DEEDS!"
Proverbs 4:20-22
“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”
Some people think that once you give your life to the Lord, their troubles are over, but that just isn’t the truth. The truth is, that after you make a decision to follow Christ, the devil will try with everything he has to discourage, distract, and stop you in your tracks. Jesus didn’t say that life would be easy, or that everything would always be a bed of roses, but He did promise that when the Holy Spirit came, He would never leave us. He was sent to be our guide, helper, teacher, and our comforter. He also empowers us to witness to others and to show others how much God loves them by doing the same works through us as He did through Jesus. The Holy Spirit wants to heal the sick and raise the dead, through us just as He did through Jesus. (Mark 16:17-18) Through faith we have that same power within us (the Holy Spirit) that raised Jesus from the dead! (Philippians 3:10)
We all know that Jesus gave all authority over the devil to the church, but Brother Harvey told us a couple weeks ago that when we are under an attack from the devil and he’s succeeding, that we have something in common with him. We don’t just have the sickness, or whatever he’s trying to put on us, but there is something that we have in common with him that’s giving him an opportunity to come against us. It could be a sin or disobedience that gives him permission to attack us. It could be that our faith isn’t built up where it should be because of lack of prayer and reading our Bibles. Remember, Pastor Bill says that if we have a low level of reading, our faith level will be low also. – Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)
Another reason we let Satan attack us is because of a lack of knowledge. If we don’t know about something, we can’t accept it. If your friend knew that you needed shoes and went out and bought you a pair but never told you to come and get them, you will keep walking around barefoot, right? You would have a brand new pair of shoes, but you wouldn’t have any knowledge that you even had any. Your feet would continue to take abuse and be in pain because you never received your shoes that would have been protecting your feet.
If you never attain knowledge on how to receive from God what He’s already provided for you, a healing for example, most likely, you’re already living a defeated life. The devil loves to keep people “in the dark” about things because that’s where he does his best work. He never comes into the light because he would be exposed easily, but the Bible says that we aren’t ignorant of his devices. 2 Corinthians 2 : 11. We already know that it’s him when we are under some sort of attack. The Bible says that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed we can move mountains, and the devil is definitely smaller than a mountain, so let’s keep our faith built up. Stay in the Word – put it first in your life. When you do that, you are putting God first. As you read, you are planting that seed of God’s Word in your heart (the soil). A plant can’t grow properly and produce well, unless you water it though, right? Now you have to water that word with prayer and confess the word. Isaiah 55:10-11. The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
Your words will water the seed that you planted in our heart. You must learn how to use the Word to stay protected from the evil things that the devil will try to do to you. Some day your life or someone else’s life will probably depend on it! Read the 91 Psalm. It tells us just how much we really are protected when we belong to God and when we are obedient to Him.

A Doer With Consistant Anticipation
When Elijah saw Elisha working the fields with twelve oxen, it is evident that Elisha had complete control of these teams of oxen. He had them trained and knew the leaders of each team and group. Elisha was familiar with each oxen and the nature of each. Having the ability to direct 12 such powerful animals took much time to learn which would be successful leaders.
Makes you think of Peter as a leader of the twelve disciples. Peter may have been in life one of many talents, yet was not happy in all of them. Like Elisha his labors were with a purpose. Both had dreams of success and had special leadership qualities. Yet those qualities need much help to prove they were capable of leadership.
Elijah as his ministry of a prophet of God developed; he perceived that he would not be able to do all that God was calling him to do. Being one of vision, and as these visions increased Elijah understood he would not be able to fulfill then all alone.
What to do? Follow Gods leading and discover the servant God would provide to continue to reach those who were in need of the knowledge of the Man Of God, who would reveal the God of creation, to all who would follow and listen to the Word of the Living God!
As Elijah meditated and talked with God the Lord, Elijah begun to see the very person, in spirit, that God had selected to be his servant, and potentially his successor.
And that day in 1 Kings 19:16 the Lord spoke to Elijah to go anoint three people for the service of the Lord. First anoint Hazel King over Syria: Second Jehu King over Israel: Third Elisha prophet in thy place.
Now the Word says Elijah proceeded to anoint these men as God had directed him.
In verse 19 we see Elijah found Elisha plowing with twelve oxen, thought he must have been successful, and not poor, to own twelve oxen must have been something 60 minutes would have liked to do a documentary about. Back to Teaching!
And also he was wealthy enough to sacrifice all twelve oxen. That was a complete separation for the old way to the dream in his heart, which God had been speaking to his spirit man.
Now this is something to meditate about. Elijah seems to walk through the field and come close enough to throw his mantel on Elisha’s shoulders, notice Elijah didn’t tell Elisha the Lord God of Israel told me to anoint you prophet in my place, but I first need to test you and see if you’re really the one, who will obey the calling of the Lord.
Notice v21 Elisha slew the oxen and called all the people to come and eat twelve oxen. Think of the crowd of people it would take to eat that many oxen.
Elisha was ready to follow the prophet Elijah and become his servant, remember Elisha seems to be a prominent farmer and he leaves all to become a servant of the Most High God; Jehovah. Think Elisha’s desire was to serve Jehovah God and not Elijah.
That is the same decision we as believers face when God has spoken unto us about servitude, and get the word confused and think He said go preach, when God knows there is much training and submission to learn and hearing His voice and not the voice of our self (flesh) or just as dysfunctional to hear the voice of satan and follow it, really blaming God for all your error.
Elisha believed The Lord God Jehovah sent Elijah, and he eliminated the past, of self, flesh, desires to better his own goals and except God’s Goals for his life.
The thought of the Love of God that come with that touch of Elijah’s Mantle, it filled Elisha with so much joy, and Elisha could hardly wait to complete or finish his responsibilities on the farm. No time to sell the farm and animals; just offer then as a sweet smelling offering to The Lord: And follow God and His servant the rest of his days.
Do you have that servant’s heart to do what you know God requires of you? Think on these things. (Selah)
